EMS Training
The Science Behind EMS Training
Focused Strength
EMS stands for Electrical Muscle Stimulation. Our trainers fit you into FDA-approved suits that use safe, low-frequency currents to activate your muscles as you move. At first, it feels like a gentle, full-body tingle that builds into a stronger (but never painful) impulse — the kind that leaves you with real results, like a stronger core and toned muscles.
This technology helps you hit your fitness goals — from building strength to reducing body fat and improving overall tone — in just 25-minute sessions, 1–3 times a week. EMS is for everyone. If you can train safely in a gym, you can train safely with EMS. While many of our clients are already active and looking for a more efficient way to get results, you don’t need any prior workout experience to succeed here.
Recovery tip: Expect to feel your maximum soreness around day two or three after your first few sessions — it’s a sign your muscles are adapting and getting stronger.
Benefits of EMS Training
EMS training uses precisely placed electrodes to activate muscles more deeply than traditional workouts. This means stronger contractions, improved mind–muscle connection, and better movement efficiency.
Body Composition Benefits – EMS pulses target muscle fibers while disrupting stubborn fat stores. Research shows EMS can produce strength and hypertrophy results comparable to high-intensity resistance training — with less strain on your body and joints.
Proven Safety – Originally designed over 60 years ago for rehabilitation, EMS is well-researched for both short- and long-term safety. It’s a trusted method for building strength and aiding recovery.
Gentle on Joints – Because EMS doesn’t require heavy weights or sudden, high-impact movements, it strengthens muscles evenly while reducing stress on joints and the spine — making it ideal for those with mobility concerns.

Recovery After Your EMS Session
After an EMS workout, you’ll definitely feel the burn — those deep muscle contractions keep working long after your session ends. It’s completely normal to feel sore the next day.
We actually encourage gentle movement the following day, such as yoga, Pilates, or light cardio. These activities help improve circulation, loosen tight muscles, and speed up recovery.
Important tips for optimal recovery:
- Rest between sessions: Allow at least one full day between EMS workouts to give your muscles time to repair and strengthen.
- Hydrate: Drink plenty of water to help flush out toxins and support your lymphatic system.
- Fuel your body: Give your muscles the nutrients they need — prioritize lean proteins, healthy fats, and nutrient-rich carbs after your workout.
With proper recovery, you’ll maximize the benefits of EMS and come back feeling stronger every time.

Absolutely. EMS has been used for decades in rehabilitation, sports performance, and muscle recovery, and the technology is well-researched and trusted worldwide. Our EMS suits use FDA-approved, safe, and proven muscle stimulation technology designed specifically for fitness.
Every trainer at Pose and Pulse is certified in EMS and will guide you through a workout that’s both effective and safe. Before your session, please share any injuries, conditions, or health concerns with your trainer — and as always, consult your doctor if you have specific medical questions.
Recovery matters: To get the best results, rest your muscles and stay hydrated after your session. Avoid heavy strength training or deep-tissue massage for 48 hours after your first few EMS workouts to allow your body to fully recover.
Everyone’s body responds differently, but most clients feel the burn after their very first session — and some even notice subtle improvements in muscle tone right away.
By around four sessions, you’ll typically start to see visible changes in your body. After six sessions, others will start noticing too. If your goal is to build core strength or relieve back pain, you may experience relief in as little as 1–2 workouts.
It’s normal to feel muscle fatigue or soreness after your first session. Over time, your body will adapt to EMS, your recovery will get faster, and you’ll continue to feel and see results week after week.

Our EMS technology sets us apart — it activates both Type I (slow-twitch) and Type II (fast-twitch) muscle fibers instantly, something that’s extremely difficult to achieve in a traditional workout on your own. This means deeper muscle recruitment, faster strength gains, improved endurance, and better overall performance in a fraction of the time.
